A very important decision-making time for Israel as it confronts its next step heading into a continued cease-fire.
Everybody wants phase 2 of the cease-fire to take place, and this includes Pres. Trump, this is where Israel begins to give up the store as they are required to remove their forces out of the Gaza Strip. They think Israel will be happy just to hold the keys to the store. This is not settling well Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his coalition. On Monday Trump announced his pessimistic side on the second phase going forward and said he himself has no guarantees that the peace is going to hold.
Foreign countries involved believe it was Trump's pressure that persuaded Israel to begin the cease-fire in the first place and are now counting on him to put pressure on Israel to work its way into the second phase. However, this is not going over very well with Netanyahu's coalition. It seems Netanyahu is teetering on ending the cease-fire altogether and continue the fight to eliminate the terrorist organization Hamas’ control of the Gaza Strip.
So here we go again, does Israel bend to pressure of the many or decide to go it alone. It's decision-making time for Israel; however, we know that Trump will have some influence, it's just a question of how much influence. The talks are to continue through this week.
As far as Netanyahu is concerned and the way it's being understood is that what he would be happy with is as many hostages released as possible and then the war to continue.
Knowing Scripture and what it says we were at a time to where it is possible for the Jews God to step in and make the decision for all concerned. By understanding Zachariah 12 we know, understand that at some point, time during a war God will destroy Israel's surrounding enemies, as seen in Psalm 83. If Israel goes back to war will this be the one where God will step in, we don't know for sure, but it has great possibilities of it being the one war where God decides. Time is running out for the Palestinians.
