Is Trump backing out of the war with Iran?

It seems U.S. Pres. Trump is taking a lackadaisical view of the war in Iran, and even making statements that he believes the war is “maybe” over. I think this is whitewash on an old fence. This is more of an attempt to be able to calm the waters knowing at this time it's more a political clout, face-saving attempt, as there being a war could cost him the control of the house and maybe even the Senate. Let's be honest, the American people are tired of war. Trump is shrewd and playing a long-term game with Iran, but the war is far from over.

Iran is fully aware of this.

Iran has three cards to play.

US midterm elections along with new elections in Israel is one card. Tehran could use this to its advantage. Anything to upset or cause an uprising among the American electorates could benefit Iran. Let’s remember we’re about 60 days away from the elections.

Control over the Strait of Hormuz is a second card.

Iran knows military strikes throughout the middle east could bring a heavy response from the United States and possibly from Israel. And Tehran also understands, to force its control over the Hormuz waterway could bring a forceful action from the United States but Iran seems to be wanting to take a chance.

Time is on Iran's side and that's the third card.

Their ability to work around the sanctions and to ignore the oil embargo seems to be something that they're willing to do.

If the powers to be, with-in Iran where to hold out until a given time to where a sudden strike would or could have the most effect what time would that be? How about a sudden October surprise of all out missile strikes in the middle east this upsetting the American people, confounding Trump’s plan to maintain control over the house and Senate. It is possible and something to think about.
