Trump’s peace deal in jeopardy after Israel strikes Beirut

Donald Trump’s peace deal with Iran has been thrown into jeopardy once again, after Israel bombed the Lebanese capital of Beirut in breach of a ceasefire.

The Israeli military says it has struck Hezbollah infrastructure in the southern suburbs of Beirut, calling it a blatant ceasefire violation.

Iran’s top negotiator has said that the Israeli attack in Beirut shows “the US either lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or the ability to do so”
